Supporting Education
Education is one thing that touches all our lives - and you've helped us provide educational opportunities and support for promising students in your community.
  • For 22 years, the Coca-Cola Scholars Program has been opening doors for our nation's most promising students by offering both 4-year and 2-year college scholarships.
  • The First Generation Scholarship program supports students who are the first in their immediate family to attend college - and has been since 1993.
  • Coca-Cola helps Teach for America recruit outstanding recent college graduates to commit two years to teaching in public schools.
  • Through our student-at-risk program, we're helping reduce dropout rates by encouraging at-risk students to become mentors for their younger peers.
  • Our continued commitment to education has given us the opportunity to help enhance education by providing resources to hundreds of colleges and universities across the country.

Proecting our Planet

We all have a role to play in protecting our natural resources. Since 1969 Coca-Cola has been working to reduce the environmental impact of our packaging. We were the first to introduce a food grade plastic bottle made with recycled material in 1991, and we are building the world’s largest bottle-to-bottle recycling plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. We also support community-based recycling programs like RecycleBank, America Recycles Day, and the National Recycling Coalition’s Recycling Bin Grant program. And, for the past twelve years we have supported the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Clean Up held every September. With your help we can significantly increase household recycling rates, and preserve our national parks and recreation areas.

We also are committed to being good stewards of our water resources, and we support water conservation projects throughout the world, including the southeast rivers and streams and the Rio Grande in the U.S. But together, we can do even more!

Look for ways you can contribute in your community and check back often for more environmental tips and ways to be more green.

Promoting Active Lifestyles
Just like you, we know the importance of living active, balanced lives. That's why we've sought to partner with organizations in your community to promote physical fitness and well-being. They include:
  • Support of Triple Play, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's national after-school program that promotes healthy and active lifestyle choices. We've been supporting this program since 2005 and are thrilled to report that it is available to more than 4 million club members in all 50 states. It is also available to everyone through The Boys & Girls Club’s new online toolkit. To find a club near you or to download the toolkit, visit http://www.bgca.org/clubs
  • A unique community biking program in partnership with Trek bikes and the Rails to Trails Conservancy (RTC), a non-profit organization that helps communities like yours convert abandoned railroad beds to pedestrian trails and paths. This program has been going strong for more than 20 years!
  • Since the 1930's, we've been partnering in different ways with our parks. Our new 5-year partnership with the National Park Foundation and the National Park Service will help improve the condition of trail systems in our national parks. Ultimately, that means more places for you to hike, bike, and enjoy the great outdoors.
